One thing that I highly recommend for everyone to bring more peace and stillness to their lives is to find easy ways to practice mindfulness. These 6 easy ways to practice mindfulness will help you keep your head clear and bring you a little peace and serenity to your day.

6 easy Ways To Practice Mindfulness

  1. Practice being present. Whatever you are doing, try to stay in the moment. Work, exercise, family time, eating (especially eating), try to stay present in the activity in front of you. Put your phone done, stay off of social media and focus on the task at hand.
  2. Practice breath work. If you find your mind wandering or you are struggling with staying calm practice breath work. There are a ton of different breathing techniques that can help to build energy or to help bring it down. Find a breathing technique that serves you in the moment.
  3. Practice noticing and observing your thoughts. Acknowledge when your mind wanders and when you feel easily distracted. Allow yourself that moment and they redirect yourself back to the task at hand and bring yourself back to the present moment.
  4. Accept who you are and embrace it. Treat yourself with kindness and love. A key component to mindfulness is self care. You cannot give to others, if you have nothing to give.
  5. Practice active listening and embracing those around you. When you are engaging with another person, listen. Then accept who they are and where they are at. Think about it as also letting go of the things they may do that bother you or disrupt your joy. I am not saying be everyones best friend. However, being accepting of who people are is truly the path to finding inner peace.
  6. Let your feet and skin touch the earth. It allows you to feel the connection to the dirt and ground beneath you. There is nothing like connecting to the earth to practice mindfulness. Take off your sunglasses let the light penetrate your eyes and just enjoy the air around you.
